University of Bristol corresponding authors can publish original research articles* open access with any of these journals at no cost to them.

• Use your UoB email address when submitting

• If the journal offers you a choice of licence, please select CC-BY

If your journal does not show up in this list: it may be a fully OA ('gold') journal which will require you to pay an open access publishing fee (APC). Check the journal webpage or search the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) by journal title for APC information.

• OA Block Grant funding is available through the University to cover APCs for UKRI, Wellcome, and BHF-funded authors. Submit an Open Access Claim Form to check your funding eligibility.

• Some funders may allow you to use project funds to pay an APC (see guidance).

• If no funding is available from the University or funder, you may need to find alternative funding, request a fee waiver, or choose another journal.
