Where can I publish open access?
OA agreements will cover research and review articles, but may not cover other article types. Some journals charge additional fees not related to open access. Check with the publisher or library if unsure.
Use this service to find:
- Journals included in our open access agreements (free OA). No application to York to York Open Access Fund (YOAF) needed.
- Fully open access journals which are eligible for support from YOAF. Application to YOAF needed.
- Journals that do not charge a fee for open access. No application to YOAF needed.
- Journals where the ‘green’ (repository) route to OA is recommended - hybrid journals which are not covered by open access agreements and not eligible for support from YOAF. See our guide on depositing your articles.
Note on the last three of these points that the service is not comprehensive. It is accurate to the best of our knowledge, but we cannot guarantee that it is completely error free.
