Where can I publish open access?
OA agreements will cover research and review articles, but may not cover other article types. Some journals charge additional fees not related to open access. Check with the publisher or library if unsure.
Use this service to find:
Free. OA Agreement: journals included in our open access agreements (free OA). No application to York to York Open Access Fund (YOAF) needed.
Apply for funding: fully open access journals which may be eligible for support from YOAF. Apply to YOAF.
Free. No APC charged: journals that do not charge a fee for open access. No application to YOAF needed.
Green route: hybrid journals which are not covered by OA agreements and not eligible for YOAF. Deposit your accepted manuscript in our repository (free).
Note on the last three of these points that the service is not comprehensive. It is accurate to the best of our knowledge, but we cannot guarantee that it is completely error free.
